About Us

Mountaineer Food Bank (MFB), a proud member of the Feeding America network, believes in a West Virginia where no one goes to bed hungry—today or tomorrow.

As the largest emergency food provider in the state, we serve families, children, seniors, veterans, and individuals facing food insecurity across our communities.

Each year, Mountaineer Food Bank distributes more than 19 million meals to neighbors in need throughout 48 of West Virginia’s 55 counties. Everything we do is guided by our mission to feed West Virginia’s hungry and empower communities to end hunger.

Food insecurity affects more than 200,000 West Virginians, meaning too many of our neighbors lack consistent access to nutritious food needed for a healthy life. To address this critical need, Mountaineer Food Bank works through a trusted network of 470+ community partners, including food pantries, shelters, churches, and nonprofit organizations.

Beyond food distribution, we provide targeted programs and services designed to meet people where they are and address hunger at every stage of life. These initiatives include our Mobile Pantry Program, Veterans Table Program, Child Hunger Programs, Senior Feeding Programs, Food for Health, and more—each focused on nourishing both individuals and communities.
