But it takes a really big table to feed everyone experiencing food insecurity in West Virginia—and there’s no time to lose.

Building to Bridge the Hunger Gap

By expanding our central headquarters, Mountaineer Food Bank can eliminate two leased facilities while increasing services and growing our staff.

This expansion will add 864,000 cubic feet of space, translating into 10 million additional meals every year for families across West Virginia.

What the Expansion Adds:

594,000 cubic feet of dry storage
50,000 cubic feet of frozen storage
40,000 cubic feet of refrigerated storage
180,000 cubic feet dedicated to loading docks, ground-level loading areas, volunteer workspace, offices, and restrooms

More than 250,000 West Virginians are struggling with hunger and don’t know where their next meal will come from.

Mountaineer Food Bank currently provides 85% of the food on pantry shelves statewide, yet the need continues to grow.

20 Million Pounds

Since 2015, we’ve more than doubled distribution from 10.6 million pounds to over 20 million pounds annually. And still, the hunger gap remains.

We are launching a critical capital campaign that will expand our table, extend our reach, and strengthen hunger relief across West Virginia.
